About AquariumSOS

AquariumSOS exists because most "why is my fish sick" searches end at a generic care sheet that lists every possible cause of a symptom without ever helping you figure out which one actually applies to your tank. We built this site the opposite way: every problem page walks through the specific, distinguishing signs that separate one cause from another, and the diagnosis tool runs your actual symptoms against structured data collected across hundreds of documented fish problems.

No AI guesswork. The diagnosis tool, compatibility checker, stocking calculator, and water parameter guide are all built on structured reference data — cause, symptom, and fix information written and checked against real aquarist knowledge — not a language model improvising an answer at the moment you ask. When a diagnosis is uncertain, the tool says so, and every serious result points you toward consulting an aquatic vet rather than pretending confidence it doesn't have.

AquariumSOS is built and maintained by Praveen, working out of Berlin, Germany. The site is free to use. A small paid tank-planning service and an optional donation help cover hosting and the ongoing work of keeping species data accurate.
